DLR in 2007 implemented a cycle strategy, which aims to encourage passengers to cycle to its stations and continue their journey via the railway. A key elemetn of thes tratgey a to oplement high quality, consistent parking at all stations acriss the DLR netowrk. The new bicycle shelters’ designed, manfuactured and supplied by Trueform, is the first of many to be installed throughout the DLR network.
The shelters are state of the art, including the following unique features, the shelters have space for 12 cycles undercover, they have solar-powered lighting and covered by CCTV plus they have a ‘public art’ installation, Time and Tide by Alison Turnball.
